Fotona Scar Revision

Scars form when damaged dermal tissue heals irregularly, resulting in dense collagen fibers, raised boundaries, or depressed indentations. The Fotona Laser System offers a sophisticated, dual-action approach to safely refine scar tissue and restore skin smoothness.

Utilizing specialized Er:YAG laser technology and the advanced FS-01 fractional handpiece, our scar revision protocol combines two synergistic steps:

  1. Ablative Fractional Resurfacing (FS-01): Delivers micro-fractional energy to gently peel away damaged surface layers, smoothing rough edges and creating micro-channels that stimulate natural skin renewal.

  2. Deep Thermal Collagen Remodeling: Directs gentle, controlled thermal energy into the deeper dermal layers, encouraging healthy collagen rearrangement to plump up pitted scars and flatten rigid, uneven texture.

Over a series of sessions, rigid scar tissue is gradually replaced with fresh, healthy collagen—leaving you with softer texture and a more unified complexion.

More Q & A

What Types of Scars Can Be Treated?

Fotona Scar Revision is suitable for a wide variety of scar concerns across the face and body, including:

  1. Acne Scars: Pitted, boxcar, or rolling acne scars.

  2. Surgical Scars: Post-operative incisions or procedure marks.

  3. Trauma / Burn Scars: Irregular, raised, or textured skin from previous injuries.

  4. Hyperpigmented Scars: Discoloration or dark spots left behind by healing skin.

What to Expect & Patient Guide

1. What Does the Session Feel Like?

Comfort is our priority. Topical numbing cream is applied prior to the session to minimize sensation. You may feel a warm prickling feeling during the laser delivery. Because this protocol utilizes ablative fractional technology, mild redness, swelling, or micro-crusting may occur for 3 to 5 days post-treatment as fresh skin regenerates.

2. How Many Sessions Are Recommended?

Scar remodeling is a progressive journey. While initial texture improvement is often visible after early sessions, a series of 3 to 6 treatments (spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart) is typically recommended for superior, long-lasting smoothing.
