Why PCA Peel?

Professional peeling is not about using the strongest acid — it’s about using the right formulation for your skin.

PCA SKIN® professional peels combine carefully selected exfoliating acids with targeted active ingredients to address specific concerns — from breakouts and congestion to discoloration, uneven tone, texture, and sensitivity.

What makes PCA SKIN® different is its treatment-focused approach: formulations can be selected and customized according to your skin’s condition, tolerance, and goals, rather than applying the same peel to every client. The result? A more precise approach to professional exfoliation — designed around your skin, not a one-size-fits-all formula.

Who should avoid a PCA Peel:

Absolute Contraindications (Do Not Treat)

-Pregnancy or breastfeeding: Hormonal shifts and systemic safety mean nursing or pregnant women must avoid chemical peels.

-Active infections or lesions: This includes active cold sores/herpes simplex breakouts, bacterial infections, or fungal rashes in the treatment area.

-Compromised skin or open wounds: Fresh cuts, abrasions, or broken skin prevent safe acid application.

-Recent isotretinoin (Accutane) use: Use within the past 6 to 12 months severely compromises skin healing.

-Allergies to ingredients: Known hypersensitivity or allergies to aspirin/salicylates, lactic acid, or specific peel components.

Relative Contraindications (Require Deferral or Physician Clearance)

-Inflammatory skin conditions: Active flare-ups of eczema, psoriasis, or severe dermatitis.

-Recent sunburn or tanning: Compromised or newly damaged skin raises the risk of severe blistering and pigment damage.

-History of abnormal scarring: Tendency toward keloid or hypertrophic scarring.

-Autoimmune or immune system disorders: Conditions that impair proper skin healing and increase adverse reaction risks

Benefits of PCA Peel

-Improves Acne and Breakouts: Salicylic acid and lactic acid clear out trapped dirt, oil, and dead skin cells from deep inside pores to calm inflammation and stop future breakouts.

-Improves Hyperpigmentation: Formulations containing ingredients like kojic acid and hydroquinone lighten dark spots, sun damage, melasma, and post-acne marks.

-Reduces Fine Lines and Wrinkles: Deeper or blended options (like TCA peels) stimulate collagen and elastin production in the skin to increase firmness and smooth out aging lines.

-Improves Texture and Tone: Controlled cellular turnover sheds dull surface cells to reveal a brighter, softer, and more even complexion.

-Enhances Product Absorption: Removing the outer layer of dead skin allows your daily serums and moisturizers to sink in deeper and work more effectively.
