- 2 min read
This advanced Ultherapy treatment relies on your body’s natural response to build new collagen. Following these guidelines ensures your experience is comfortable and your results are optimized.
Before Your Treatment:
A minimal amount of preparation is required for your Ultherapy session. The goal is to maximize comfort and ensure optimal energy delivery.
1.Clean Skin is Key: Please arrive at your appointment with a clean face. All facial makeup, lotions, oils, and moisturizers must be completely removed from the treatment area before you arrive.
2.Time of Arrival: Please arrive prior to your first Ultherapy appointment. This allows time for registration and necessary "before" treatment photos.
3.Numbing and Comfort:
Numbing Cream: If discussed during your consultation, you may apply the prescribed topical numbing cream up to one hour before your appointment.
Pain Relief: You may use Acetaminophen (Tylenol) before treatment for discomfort.
4.Medication to Avoid (7 Days Prior): To minimize the risk of bruising, please avoid anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs) like Advil, Aleve, Ibuprofen, and Aspirin. If you are taking prescription blood thinners, please confirm with your physician before discontinuing them.
5.Contraindications: Please notify us immediately if you become pregnant, are breastfeeding, or develop any broken skin, open lesions, or a cold sore in the treatment area.
On the Day of Your Treatment:
During the session, your licensed practitioner will cleanse the area, apply ultrasound gel, and use the Ulthera® device to deliver micro-focused energy to the deep tissue layers. You will feel a deep heat or warmth sensation as the energy is deposited.
After Your Treatment:
Post-Procedure CareOne of the greatest benefits of Ultherapy is that there is virtually no required downtime. You can return to your life immediately, but a few simple steps will help manage side effects and support the healing process.
You may return to your normal activities immediately.
Strenuous Exercise: It is recommended to avoid strenuous activities or intense exercise for approximately 24 hours. This helps minimize temporary swelling and bruising.
Bathing and Cleansing: You may shower and wash the treated area as you normally would. Avoid using hot water in the treated area until any initial redness subsides.
Topical Products: You may apply any topical creams, lotions, and makeup immediately after your treatment.
Sun Protection: Always use a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ and strictly implement physical sun protection daily, especially in the weeks following treatment, as treated skin can be more sensitive to UV exposure.
Avoid Irritants (7 days): To avoid irritation, temporarily hold off on harsh exfoliating products, glycolic acids, salicylic acids, and Retinoids (Retin-A) until any tenderness or redness has fully diminished.
Results:
